Preliminary Task: Front Cover and Conventions Diagram
Selling line: The selling line is at the top because it's short description of the selling point.
Website link: It states the website of the magazine.
Masthead: It's usually the logo, so people can visually see it.
Dateline: This just tells you the date and year that the issue was made.
Coverlines: Coverlines can either be around or on the image.
Main coverlines: This is very large taking up a lot of the magazine space. You can't miss it. Usually it doesn't interfere with the main image.
Left third: It's an important part of the magazine and must be there. They should be easy to read.
Barcode: A bar code used by all retailers.
Main image: This usually covers the whole of the magazine with everything written on top of it.

Denotation

Connotation
He’s smart because of what he’s wearing, but possibly cool because he styled out his suit with puma trainers.
Mise en Scene
Setting-It’s white, with a plain background and there’s nothing there, which could suggest it’s in a studio.
Props-There aren’t really any props in the photo.
